International Hospitals Group (IHG) has successfully completed over 480 healthcare projects in 55 countries around the world.

IHG was founded in 1972 with the specific aim of providing British healthcare development and management expertise to overseas countries. Over the past 50 years IHG has become a truly international company with a unique experience around the world. Now a fully private family owned company IHG was initially formed as a private/public partnership with a UK state owned enterprise as a shareholder.

IHG’s first healthcare project was in 1972 with the Presidential Court of Abu Dhabi who needed support to establish the National Health Service in Abu Dhabi. IHG successfully assisted in this major project by providing circa 70 healthcare experts for eight years until completion.

In 1980 the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Arabian National Guard (SANG) wanted to appoint, under a Government (Saudi) to Government (UK) contract, an international healthcare company to equip, manage, recruit and train staff, transfer technology and to maintain its large Healthcare Campus (Medical City) with its brand new 500 bed King Khalid Hospital (KKH) in Jeddah.

IHG entered into this important turnkey contract with SANG and recruited circa 2,000 staff, managed and operated, educated and trained staff at the KKH. After the KKH was successfully opened by IHG after commissioning and under IHG’s ongoing operational management it was announced that the KKH would be open to Saudi citizens and not limited to SANG. IHG produced a high level of patient care and the contract was renewed to 1993. IHG received various letters of acknowledgement and accolades for the high and consistent quality.

From its foundation, IHG has continually grown its services. IHG has provided healthcare consultancy, hospital, commissioning, medical planning and equipping, project management and turnkey design and construction and related healthcare services to Governments, private institutions and multi-national agencies.

IHG subsequently entered into over 480, healthcare contracts, which IHG has successfully completed on behalf of its many clients worldwide.

IHG developed its UK healthcare services by working with more than 105 NHS Health Care Authorities and NHS Trusts, and also provided recruitment services with circa 15,000 staff being recruited for the NHS.

IHG is part of the International Group (IG) of companies, a fourth generation, private family business founded in the UK. IG provides a unique combination of project management skills and expertise as owners and managers in the following sectors:

IG’s oldest company, Beeson and Sons Limited, (a property development company) was established in 1930. Since the 1960s the group has owned and operated businesses in jewellery, packaging, recruitment and advertising. After 33 years of management and ownership the group sold the Stoke Park Estate (www.stokepark.com) to Reliance Industries in April 2021. Recent investments have been made in hydrogen production, education and online safety.
